Golden Hour: Shoot during the first hour after sunrise or the last hour before sunset. The light is softer, warmer, and adds dimension to landscapes, architecture, and skin tones.
Cloudy Days = Built-in Softbox: Overcast skies create even, diffused lighting. Great for portraits and flatlays.
Backlighting: Try positioning the sun behind your subject for dreamy glow and soft haze.
Watch the Shadows: Midday light can be harsh, find shade or use it creativelymlike creating lines with window frames or foliage.
📐 2. Master Composition Early On
Rule of Thirds: Turn on the gridlines in your camera or phone. Place your subject along those lines or intersections for a more balanced, pleasing photo.
Leading Lines: Use roads, rivers, doorways, or fences to draw the viewer’s eye into the frame.
Negative Space: Don’t be afraid to leave empty sky, wall, or ground in your shot — it can make your subject stand out dramatically.
🎨 3. Mood is Everything — Set It On Purpose
ISO: 100–400 in daylight; up to 1600 in low light.
Focal Lengths: 35mm for stories, 50–85mm for portraits, 24mm for wide shots.
Aperture: f/2.8 for blur, f/8+ for landscapes.
Shutter: 1/125+ for handheld; slower for motion blur.
